22 percent of the total use of water in homes (average homes) come from the shower. And that an average 5-minute shower would consume about 30 gallons of water. And that is just for one person! What about if there are 4 or 5 people in your home using the shower? Low flow shower heads limits and gives you less water consumption being used compared to the standard and traditional shower heads. How does it really work? Low flow shower heads of the past work just by simply blocking part of the water flow. A draw back of this is that it results to a somewhat less satisfying shower. But with modern technology and our God-given intelligence, today’s low flow shower heads still control the flow of water but with an addition of pressure through air or engineering so as to give us a firm blast of water that wouldn’t ruin our shower experience. A way to figure out if your shower at home uses to much water is take any 1gallon container under your shower head and take the time on how long it’s completely filled. Normal shower heads have a flow rate of 4-6 gallons per minute (gpm). So a 4gpm shower head would fill the container around 15 seconds. A 6gpm shower head would fill the container in only around 10 seconds, that’s a lot of water if you try to calculate it with your average standard shower time. But if you are using a low-flow shower head, it would take about 24 seconds before the 1gallon container is filled.

Korean style spa
Korean style spa
If you seek a place where everyone speaks in soothing tones, the music is meditative, and the gentle touch of a massage therapist lulls you to sleep, a Koren style spa is not for you. But if you want to be scrubbed and pounded for more than an hour and emerge relaxed with glowing, baby-soft skin, then a Korean-style spa and sauna might just be for you. Most Korean style spas feature steam and dry saunas, hot and cool pools, acupressure massage rooms and "fomentation" rooms lined with yellow clay (said to rid the bodies of impurities and improves appetite) and jade (good for skin and blood circulation). Korean style spas offer the convenience of public baths where you can go for a traditional scrub and soak.

Asian Style Spa

| LUXURIOUS ASIAN STYLE SPA , 2006) |
Zen Springs is an Asian style spa, but it is located in Oakland, CA. So what exactly makes a spa Asian style.
- Treatments
- Architecture
- Lighting
- Mood/Atmosphere
All real Asian style spas will have good body treatments such as body scrubs, body masque and body wraps. Asian spas also offer aromatherapy to heighten the experience of a massage. Treatments that are especially related to Asian spas are healing and rejuvenating treatments and special Asian herbs, oils and lotions are used.
ARCHITECTURE
The spa will most likely have Chinese/Asian architecture, Chinese architecture refers to a style of architecture that has taken shape in East Asia over many centuries.
Energy Efficient Spas
Spas are wonderful. Big electric bills are not. Here are couple factors that can make your spa more energy efficient.
Insulation is one of the most important aspects to consider when purchasing a hot tub. The hot tub's design and construction will most determine the cost of operation. Two hot tubs holding the same amount of water, in the same placed , used identically could have drastically different operating cost. No matter what type of insulation is used, as long as some form or method is employed, it will assist in reducing the operating cost of the spa.By incorporating insulation into the spa structure, the manufacturer is reducing the time it takes for the water temperature to pass from the body of water to the outside environment. By effectively doing so, the time that it takes to heat and maintain water temperature is reduced and in return, the cost to heat is also reduced.

Way Beyond Relaxation
Way Beyond Relaxation
There are more spas in the United State then Starbucks, there about 10,000 Starbucks to over 15,000 spas, it is a 9.7 billion dollar business and the Swedish massage is the most popular treatment. For a business to be considered a spa it must offer at least two out of
three types of treatments: Massage, skin care, or body wraps and scrubs.
three types of treatments: Massage, skin care, or body wraps and scrubs.
If I plan to go to a spa I want it to be a special, tranquil, serene, relaxing experience. So I asked myself what makes a spa stand out.
- Promote health and wellness over just pampering
- Qualified employees
- Operate above the industry standard
In Asia body treatments are part of the culture. A $5 massage on a beach in Thailand could be the equivalent of a $150 massage in New York, so if you travel do not shy away from treatments in foreign countries.
